IV rosewood bracket / mantle clock by Johnson of Wigan

A fine George IV period rosewood mantle / bracket clock.
Nicely detailed casework with the chamfered top & pineapple
finial, carved foliate spandrels, lower tablet with
brass bead inlay, stepped scrollwork base with reel
moulding decoration & standing on conforming scrolling
feet. The white dial with original hands & the makers
name, Johnson of Wigan, who is recorded working in Watch
& Clockmakers of the World from 1848-58. The good quality
5 pillar twin fusee rack striking movement with serpentine
shape to the top of the plates, sounding the hours on
