Banfields "Barometer Makers & Retailers" records John Casteleti as working from premises in the High Street, Leicester from 1815~1841.
This very nice early 19th Century wheel barometer features a broken gable pediment, double boxwood & ebony stringing,
together with foliate marquetry inlay to enhance the figured mahogany case.
With a long thermometer above an 8" silvered dial engraved with the makers name.
Lovely condition & with local interest too.
