Regency bracket / mantle clock Dwerrihouse & Carter, London ~ circa1815.

A classic Regency bracket / mantle clock. Cescinsky & Webster record Dwerrihouse & Carter working from two London addresses ~ 30 Charles Street, Berkeley Square 1809~18, 27 Davies Street 1823. An example of their work is seen in fig. 352.
The excellent quality eight day twin fusee movement has lancet shaped plates & is engraved with the makers name & address. It sounds the hours on a bell & has the refinement of a repeat function. The lancet shaped case is typical of the Regency period, being ebonised, Gothic in taste with symmetrical brass stringing throughout. Original lions mask handles & brass side sound frets.

Circa 1815.
