A nice mid Victorian drop dial wall time piece with visible pendulum & single fusee 8 day movement.
The case with foliate ears & glass viewing aperture to the base.
The 12" circular dial with original spade hands & central winding hole, signed with the makers name J.Prince of Grove, a Berkshire village 12 miles SW of Oxford. Various members of the Prince clock making family are recorded in the Oxford~Newbury area in the 18th & 19th centuries.
