
John FULLYLOVE RI 1847~1908
Leicester painter of landscape & views of buildings in the UK, Greece, Venice,
Jerusalem & also genre.
Trained as an architect before turning to painting professionally.
He produced many excellent watercolours of the major streets in London.
He became well known for his skilful topographical views & had an important
one man exhibition in London in 1896.
Also a book illustrator for A & C Black.
John Fullylove exhibited in London 1871~1904, at the RA 1873~1904, SS, &
at the RI & other galleries.
There are examples of his work in the Tate gallery, the British Museum,
the Royal Institute of Architects & other collections.
Some of John Fulleylove's watercolours are preserved in the Government Art
Collection.
From 1903~1906 he was the President of the Oxford Art Collection.
This captivating scene of geese being driven alongside Ragdale Hall in Leicestershire
is typical of his style with a mixture of precision of certain details together
with an overall broadness of effect.
