
MASON of WORCESTER
A most interesting early 19thC mahogany cased mantel timepiece.
The single fusee movement having shaped & engraved plates,
stamped with the makers name ~ Mason.
The painted dial, with shell spandrels within a rope twist border
has a most charming, finely detailed fair scene to the arch.
The false plate is stamped with the dial makers name Wright, Birmingam.
John & Edward Mason are recorded as watch & clock makers
at Goose Lane and St. Swithin Street, Worcester working from 1790-1864.
